One of the most well-known stories about Phandalin is the tale of the Redbrands, a group of ruthless bandits who terrorized the town for months until a group of adventurers put an end to their reign of terror. It is said that the Redbrands were led by a mysterious figure known only as "The Black Spider," who was never caught.

Another story about Phandalin involves the town's founder, a legendary adventurer named Albrek. According to legend, Albrek discovered a secret cache of treasure hidden deep beneath the town, but he never revealed its location before he died. To this day, treasure hunters come to Phandalin in search of Albrek's lost treasure.

The third story about Phandalin concerns a powerful wizard named Iarno Albrek, who was once a respected member of the town council before he disappeared under mysterious circumstances. It was later revealed that Iarno had been working with the Redbrands, and was actually the infamous Black Spider who had been behind their attacks on the town. Iarno was eventually brought to justice by a group of adventurers, and Phandalin is now a much safer place thanks to their efforts.
